Frequently Asked Questions

What is DealerClub?
DealerClub is just that…a club for auto dealers. It’s the world's first online automotive wholesale platform combining the best from the physical auction and reputation side of the business with the convenience experienced using technology. It allows you to actually BE the auction, and not controlled by one. By selecting the Dealers that want to conduct business with each other in a professional and honest manner, we look to organically foster the best place to buy and sell wholesale vehicles.
Who is Going to Write My Condition Reports (CRs)?
Whoever YOU want! DealerClub is not aimed at confining our Dealers to traditional inspectors as you, the seller, know your cars the absolute best. Whether it’s you personally, a member of your staff, or a contractor that you hire…we aim to provide the flexibility for first-party inspections that will help to provide a much more clear experience for Sellers and Buyers alike.
How Do I Write my Condition Reports (CRs)?
Using our app and/or desktop site, you can customize your CRs to your liking. Keeping in mind that clear, well-executed, and high quality photos help to build confidence in a car, we are more flexible allowing you to personalize an CR. You’ll be able to fully disclose the good and bad about a vehicle and as a result, build long term trust/relationships with your Buyers. Typically, Sellers who provide a lot of information are the most successful but accuracy is the true key to unlocking long term profits and even lower fees!

What are Your Sell Fees?
Our “sell fees” are also determined by YOU! From a high end of $200, to actually being able to EARN up to $200 for each vehicle sold, our Sellers are truly in control of their own destiny on a monthly basis based on their performance. The better you perform, the more you can get paid.
What are Your Buy Fees?
Our buy fees are very much in line (in many cases lower) with the industry. As you bid, you will be able to see exactly what your fee is as the price of the vehicle climbs. We don’t believe in “hidden fees” or “extras” that you’re unaware of while bidding. Just a simple and sliding scale that will be visible in the “My Fees & Rebates” section of the platform.
How do I Use the Chat Function?
The chat function is used to ask/answer relevant questions and really interact with each other, while the auction is running. Being dealers ourselves, we know what it’s like to want to ask a question on the Buyer side and also answer questions or concerns on the Seller side; LIVE while the auction progresses. If a comment or conversation becomes unproductive to the sale, we allow our dealers to flag uncalled for comments to promote a professional and highly informative experience.
How do I Negotiate a Deal?
DealerClub puts the power of negotiation in the hands of our dealers rather than an auction rep or auctioneer. Who better to explain why you feel a vehicle is worth what it’s worth based on its condition, recon work, and history than YOU? This applies to both Buyers and Sellers and all negotiations will be viewable by your peers to encourage “real” offers and explanations.
How do I Set Up my Profile?
It’s easy! Much like a social media platform, you have the ability to give your audience (Sellers and Buyers) information about you as a dealer. What types of vehicles do you normally wholesale? How do you source your vehicles that you are wholesaling? How long have you been in the business? Build value in yourself as a dealer and as always, make sure to be accurate and honest for the best results.
What if The Vehicle is Not in the Condition I Expected?
Even though we strive to build an ecosystem where adverse selection is encouraged (i.e. there are plenty of other marketplaces for vehicles that a Seller does not feel comfortable standing behind), we understand that sometimes an unknown problem vehicle may sneak through. In app, Buyers will be able to start Condition Disputes and interact directly with Sellers who will be responsible to “make it right”. All Condition Disputes will be publicly negotiated between both parties and a monetary adjustment or unwind back to the seller can be the outcome. If there is an impasse, DealerClub can be requested to get involved and we (along with a group of your dealer peers) will make the final binding decision on the outcome.
What is a “CR” Rating?
At DealerClub, after years of being beholden to “CR” Scores ourselves, we do not believe in them. What is the difference between a 3.6 and a 3.9 other than subjectivity? Vehicle “grades” will be supplied for each auction based on what THAT vehicle is. They are for informational purposes only but prove to be a great guide to condition. Is the vehicle a C (average) for a 10 year old, 150k mile vehicle…worse (D,F), or better (A,B)?
Why is There an Exact Amount of Days to Get Dealer Club a Title?
DealerClub wants to ensure full accuracy in our disclosures. We know that binding dealers to 7, 30, or 45 day increments is detrimental to the marketplace. If a Seller will have a title to us in 12 days, we provide the flexibility for them to select 12 days. This builds value for buyers and also helps speed things up for everyone.
How Will Dealer Club Prevent Unreasonable Buyer Expectations?
We all know that everyone has different expectations when buying a car, but as professional car buyers…we also know what nitpicking is. If a Seller feels a Buyer is being too picky on their auctions, they have the ability to block said Buyer from seeing their vehicles. A Buyer wants to see as many vehicles as possible while a Seller wants to have as much visibility as possible. This is why we encourage the feature to be utilized…but appropriately.
What is a “Guarantee”?
Describe what you would want to know about the car if you were the one buying it. A guarantee at DealerClub is an objective answer to the question…Can you guarantee if this part of the vehicle works as intended or if the statement is true (Yes or No)? Sellers will have the ability to add text to describe what they know about a particular portion of the vehicle and why they chose to guarantee or not guarantee it. Please keep in mind that blanket statements like “I didn’t drive it so I can’t guarantee the engine” are ok BUT if anything about those statements are found to be untrue or that you did know of an issue, the Buyer may have recourse. At the end of the day, honesty is the best policy to build your brand and reputation long term. All comments will also supersede Guarantees. Meaning, if a Seller doesn’t guarantee the transmission but subsequently answers a Buyer question in a way which could lead them (and/or other Buyers) to believe that it is in working order, their comment will take precedence over the Guarantee.
How Long Are Auctions?
At DealerClub, we currently offer 3hr, 24hr, and 24hr “Event Style” auctions.
As a Seller, Can I Schedule an Auction?
Yes! When setting up an auction, Sellers have the ability to launch immediately OR schedule one in advance. Sellers can schedule during an “Auction Event” (which is recommended) or at a specific date/time of their choosing (up to 3 days in advance). This will allow buyers to see what you have coming through the pipeline and make an educated decision on whether or not they would like to be notified when the auction goes live and subsequently bid on the vehicle.
What if a Vehicle is Run AS-IS?
If a vehicle is run “as-is” it is truly that. By not putting a blanket statement using a “Red-Light”, each individual component of the vehicle is being lasted as “No Guarantee”. There will be no condition disputes allowed (mechanical or cosmetic) on such vehicles UNLESS a Seller writes something contradictory in text via the Inspection Report or Chat. For example, if a Seller has No Guarantees listed but writes “The Vehicle Runs Great” and the Buyer receives it and it does not, there will be a special case made for that situation. The cars are truly “as-is”.
How Do I Get a Vehicle Shipped?
DealerClub offers live/in-app Transportation quotes and estimated times during an auction. We utilize a third-party integration with a professional automotive logistics company (Pre-Owned Auto Logistics). Whether keeping it simple and buying Transport “in-app” or using our pickup slip, Buyers are encouraged to use any shipping company they prefer.
What Payments Does DealerClub Accept?
DealerClub accepts many forms of electronic payment. From ACH to several floor plan companies, you can feel confident that your preferred payment method will be accepted.
How Do I Add More Users to My Account?
To add more users to your account, simply click on your profile in the top right corner of the platform and select “Manage Users” from the dropdown menu. From there, a “User Role” may be selected and/or a Custom one can be made. Once complete, they will receive an email with additional instructions.
What Are The Advantages For Buyers to Use DealerClub?
Buyers will not only benefit from the multiple levels of filters, chat feature to ask questions, and the accessibility to multiple EVHD sites. The basis of the platform is to help keep a good balance between Buyer and Seller success. By being able to see who they are buying from, along with their reputation and rating, a Buyer can feel confident in not only the vehicle they are purchasing…but who they are buying from. DealerClub truly looks to provide Buyers with as little surprises as possible when it comes to the condition of cars and time to receive paperwork.
